Welcome to the Greater Seattle Hockey League! Since 2001, the GSHL has grown into the largest adult recreational ice hockey league in the Pacific Northwest. With nearly 3,000 players and 100+ teams across 16 divisions & subdivisions, the GSHL is also one of the largest adult recreational hockey leagues in the country. The GSHL wants to provide a fun and exciting relational hockey league for adult players of all skill levels. Regardless if you've played for years or never strapped on skates, the GSHL is inclusive to players of all skill levels and works hard to have parity within each division while still challenging players to build skill. Prior to participating in any GSHL-sanctioned practices, games, playoffs, Learn to Play Hockey programs, or other activities/events, all participants must be registered with USA Hockey for the current season. Learn More... |

Registration as a new player tells the league and teams about your skills, experience and any preferences that you may have. Being a new player enters you into the new player pool to get onto a team during each round of drafts prior to the start of a season or places you on a standby list during an active/current season. Pay Season Dues |

In our adult league, we offer two seasons to keep you busy on the ice throughout the year. Our Winter season -- September to April -- includes 23 regular-season plus double-elimination playoffs. The Summer season -- May to August -- consists of 13 regular-season games plus single-elimination playoffs. There is a team cost associated with each season that is divided among rostered players. Players who register and enroll through the league itself are guaranteed fixed new player dues. The league will post information about new player dues prior to the start of each season. |

The Greater Seattle Hockey League strives to provide an evenly-balanced, competitive game for every player. To that end, prior to the beginning of each season (Winter and Summer), the league hosts a series of three to five complimentary evaluation skate sessions. During these sessions, participants are put through several drills -- including skating, shooting, passing, etc. -- followed by a light scrimmage. GSHL league officials are assessing each participants skill level to place participants in the appropriate division. Learn More... |

About one week prior to the start of each season, the league hosts a free agency draft where new players to the league are drafted (selected) by a team that compliments their appropriate skill level. Once a free agent is drafted by a team, the players information is provided to the captain, and that captain will contact their new player(s) individually to introduce themselves, their team, and any additional steps needed to get going -- like ordering of jerseys and ice socks. |

The GSHL is an inclusive league that welcomes new players of all skill levels. Games are held from Sunday to Thursday (game days vary by division) and are conducted at our various playing arenas. All recreational league and 40+ Draft League games are standard 5-on-5, with two USA Hockey-certified referees and a score/time keeper. Learn More... |
